Father's Day Bindle

This year for Father's Day...we gave the gift of time--time to stare at the clouds, to build forts and play games, to run in the grass and learn all the names of everything that is...

time to be a kid with your kid!

Troy and Ella's Adventure Journals

Sometimes the best adventures happen in your own back yard with some simple treasures--and the ones we love.
Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day 2012

The day passed with a nod and a smile, devoid of all the hubbub generally associated with commercial holidays.  Troy and I have a bit of a tradition of "gifting" in non-traditional ways.  Today, "Daddy Troy" was the recipient of gifts from the heart.
A card she made at school

The poem reads:

Walk a little slower Daddy said a child so small,
I'm following in your footsteps and I don't want to fall

Sometimes your steps are very fast
Sometimes they're hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.

Someday when I'm all grown up,
You're what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who'll want to follow me.

And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true,
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you.

She's telling him the story of how Mrs. Tina helped her make her footprints, etc.
A kiss of gratitude
What a dad!

Father's Day 2011

My all-time favorite Father/Daughter dance video:

Father's Day gift to a dad that has everything he could ever want/need...
I took a few profile pictures of Ella, printed one out on regular paper and cut it to use as a guide.  Then,  I  selected two sheets of nice card stock paper (one in black and the other in cream), cut the profile picture out twice, and mounted them on coordinating matte board purchased at Hobby Lobby.  I used standard size frames and matte board to keep life simple.  He was one happy daddy!
