Gearing Up

Ella's first soccer season starts next weekend, and her "Aunt" Chas and "Uncle" Darren surprised her this morning with a soccer tot starter kit--complete from head to toe.
Let the little kicker games begin!

"And she's off to see..."

her teacher and friends for day two of school
Dressed as Dorothy
Munchkin land apple
When dad walked her in this morning she said, "Mmmm I'm hungry" granted she just finished breakfast;).  She was excited about her Wizard of Oz lunch today and tucked in her Dorothy finger puppet right as the lid began to close!

Back to School

  :  :  :  :  :  First day of school all filled with smiles  :  :  :  :  :

In the past when I'd pick E up from school, I'd ask her what the favorite part of her day was.  She'd respond in the oh-so-typical-four-word sentence, "it was great mom." We all know she has a gift for storytelling--and mama wants to hear her classroom stories--so here's my new approach....
Wish me luck!

Update:  It worked...she picked one card, told me what she did/learned relative to that activity, and moved on to the next one.  Before we knew it--the jar was empty--but my head was filled with all the morning's excitement.  Also, got wonderful feedback from her teacher (and even the other two PK-4 teachers).  It's comforting to know she's in good hands.  She wants to go back "every single day."

PinkerElla

A fews years ago Ella's big sis, Josie, bought her Pinkalicious for her birthday.
Ella asks us to read her this book all the time--and she "picture reads" it back to us.  Maria Montessori said, "Follow the Child," which I always try to do.

Today, Ella came down with "a very rare and acute case of Pinkititis."
"Pink-a-boo!"
...and the only cure:  "a steady diet of green food," which worked!

Love those pinktails

Following her everyday is pinktastic!

This afternoon she discovered my Shirley Temple doll and movies in a closet.  Guess she'll be tapping and singing the night the way.  Popcorn for anyone who wants to enjoy the show;).
