Been wanting to take Ella to the nearby ice skating rink so SHE could try it out. I looked online and found out today was Open Skate time from 1-3...perfect! Picked her up from school, and we drove straight there. She was excited about the idea of ice skating--thanks to her Pinkalicious book.
We arrived and talked with the young lady at the front desk. Don't know what I was thinking, but I certainly didn't think I would have to go skate with her. So, I politely thanked the young lady and said...well, we will come back another time because i have absolutely no idea how to ice skate. To which my sweet four-year-old replied, "come on mom...be brave...you can do it...a good rabbit never gives up."
We had so much fun clumisly making our way around the rink. A few hours later, Ella was trying tricks like the big girls twirling around the center of the rink. BAD IDEA for beginners...she bumped into me, and we both went down giggling;).

Frozen
With the threat of snow and ice these past few days, Ella and I left the warmth of our fireplace and ventured outside for a little experiment:

We filled a couple of bundt pans with water and flowers (thank you dad for always spoiling your girls with fresh flowers) and set them outside in the every-so-slighly below freezing temps.
After day two with only a thin sheet of ice, we surrendered to warmer temps and put them in the freezer;).
A few hours later, our floral ice wreaths/suncatchers were frozen and ready to hang outside.

Tonight, we said our goodbyes, AND...
...Ella focused on something else Frozen. Frozen was the first movie she saw in a theatre, and it has become one of her favorite soundtracks;).

Ice Lanterns
The icy cold weather hit our area, and Ella's school was closed. Most of the day was spent indoors, but we did venture out a few times to blow bubbles and create balloon ice art.
WISHING YOU A WEEKEND OF FUN AND WARMTH!
