Instant Gratification

For weeks, Ella and I have been patiently waiting for seeds to sprout and grow into something that looks similar to the pictures on the seed packets.  The mystery is over; our garden is well on its way.

Tomorrow, the two-year-old class was asked to bring a cucumber plant to school for the collective garden.  She thinks it's pretty cool--and so do I--that she gets to bring a cucumber plant she grew from a seed.

This afternoon the toddler in me was needing a little instant gratification.  So, we headed to the nursery for some potted flowers.  The pickings were slim, but we're off to a good start.  Ella helped me plant and--as usual--enjoyed her "work/playtime."

Thanks Mrs. Fae for the handy dandy gardening set.

So much for instant gratification...that's one daisy down!

Surrounded by our new creations, we carried out our bedtime ritual underneath a crescent moon--and let the birds sing E to sleep.

Tweet dreams!

Body Art

With warm weather outside, these kiddos took their play date outdoors for some water play and body art.  Before we knew it, clothes were shed, tubs were filled, and bodies became a canvas.

This afternoon took on an art form all its own.

Who do you think did that to his back?

They started out as "Rudolf"

Before they went tribal...

I love the innocence and expression of children!
