Cyndi-ella: Celebration of Life--Montessori Style

Love how Ella's classroom celebrated the day she was born: I was asked to provide pictures for her first six years of life. In class, she (with the help of her mentor) created a timeline of her life. On celebration day, classmates sat in a circle (representing the passage of time), while she stood and presented her timeline--sharing tidbits of information about each photo.

When she finished, a couple of her classmates stood up in front of her and read a collection of personal letters they had written especially for her. Afterwards, they sang and celebrated with popsicles--made in class the day before from lemons, limes, and strawberries purchased by kids/sponsor on an "outing" trip to the grocery store. What an adventure...and a meaningful way to celebrate turning seven!
