12 Days of Christmas

Collecting donations for a worthwhile cause and celebrating the largely forgotten Twelve Days of Christmas tradition....

Our adoption agency is collecting items for its "free garage sale for birth mothers."  Some friends join me in collecting/donating household items, clothing, toys, Christmas decorations to contribute to this very worthwhile event.  "Many, Many of the birthmothers have needs that will never be met, but being able to shop for free will meet several of their needs on the spot."  I am collecting items through this weekend, so if any of you have items you'd like to donate, let me know.

While rummaging through Ella's sock drawers, I found a huge box of socks to donate and a few Christmas ones to display in her room in celebration of the Twelve Days of Christmas....

Official Ella B Day!

On June 18, 2010, Ella officially became a Broussard through the court system, so each June 18th is designated:
Official Ella B Day!
To honor this special day, our tradition is to pass on the blessings that she received by sharing, with others, her gently used clothes and toys.  Learning to care and share is an important life lesson to be embraced and modeled.

Last June, we made our donation to Alternatives in Motion (AIM) Adoption Agency http://www.aimadoptions.org/ in Houston where Troy, Ella and I became a family.

June 18, 2010 Donations

We have lots of donations again this year all packed up and ready to go.  If you know of a local family in need, please contact me.
At the end of the evening we shared cookies, milk and bedtime stories with family and friends...

Oh What A Sweet Surprise... is a children's story I wrote for Ella!
