Ella has been playing in German Biergartens since she was six years old. Tonight, she actually played at a Biergarten (Hafen 55) in a quaint port area of Wenner, Germany.
Our musician friend, Randy Floyd, saw a post I made on Facebook. When he noticed we were in Germany, he messaged we should contact his musician friend, Hermann Lammers Meyer, so Ella could play fiddle with him.
The contact was made, and off we drove 2.5 hours north to meet this legend. He has played/recorded with Willie Nelson, Johnny Gimble, Johnny Bush, Randy Floyd, and the list goes on and on.
A little translation mishap landed us in Wenner on his acoustic night with premade, back-up tracks instead of tomorrow night with his full band (which would have been awesome). I told him not to worry…it will be what it will be. He replied, “it will be what Ella B;)”
Despite the mishap and torrential downpour, they shared the stage and played some good old country music in Germany to a dedicated crowd of beer drinkers and toe tappers. Prost!
