I did two things differently from the above link: 1) used a piece of cork flooring I had on hand for the base (about the same size as the cereal box she used), and 2) sealed it with Mod Podge for a sturdier finish.

Play Mat
Yesterday, I made this play mat I saw on http://allthingschildren.blogspot.com/2010/09/colour-fun-5-colour-car-play-mat.html for Ella and her beloved cars. I think she liked it; she played with it when she woke up from her nap and even took it with her to dinner at our friend's house so she could share it with their three-year-old son.
